Exciting news!

The Religious Education Program is becoming Family Faith Formation. The goals of the program are to encourage and equip families to live and teach their children the Catholic Faith at home. To assist you in that role, Family Faith Formation utilizes Sophia Institute’s A Family of Faith, Catechesis for the Whole Family. The vision for A Family of Faith is strong Catholic families in which children learn the joys of following Jesus Christ and the truths of their Faith through the witness of Christian life given by their parents.  Please register before September 19 at https://swwicatholicparishes.flocknote.com/signup/98244.

With one Family Session each month, this program will give you all the knowledge and tools you need to bring your children up in the faith. Studies have shown that parental engagement with children is the single most effective way to develop young people into disciples of Christ. Family-based models are fundamental to developing a faith life that is lived out in the family and in a community. For this reason, the Catholic Church is moving toward these models.

This year we are excited to explore The Profession of Faith in the Volume I edition of A Family of Faith by Sophia Institute. Materials will be provided for your family at the cost provided here: 1 child= $60, 2 children= $90, 3+ children= $110; the number depends on which kids would have been signed up for Religious Ed. The materials include: A Parent’s Guide and an Activity Book; a Bible and Catechism will be provided for your family at the cost provided here: 1 child= $60, 2 children= $90, 3+ children= $110; the number depends on which kids would have been signed up for Religious Ed. Families are asked to attend the Second WEDNESDAY evening each month from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. (N.B. 6:30-7 a meal will be provided for the family). The rest of the month, you will work through the materials as a family at home. Your home is the Domestic Church. It is where families live out the faith daily. Mrs. Erin Kluesner will send weekly updates, reminders, and additional materials to help guide you each week. (N.B. December 21 is the only Wednesday that doesn’t fall on the 2nd Wednesday of the month due to a foreseeable conflict.
